i ordered my gorgeous handmade eco-friendly wedding gown from etsy. i am the only bride i know that managed to avoid the horror of bridal salons entirely. a couple weeks ago was the first time ever i slipped into a wedding gown - MY awesome wedding gown. it might have been a risky move but it worked out. i freaking love this dress.
the designer/dressmaker happens to live about an hour from our favorite vacation spot. two months out from the big day, we desperately needed a quick break. as soon as we got to our hotel room we walked out the back door and hand fed some friendly ducks by the creek.
ej saw the sunsphere for the first time on the way to the fitting.
lz was eaten by a shark, but survived.
at cades cove we saw a WILD bear
some deer
and breathtaking scenery
on the way back home, we stopped at the new river gorge bridge scenic outlook.
ej realized we had no pictures of us together from the trip, so we tried to take some. we were so tired. 
by far the best part of the trip was how often we managed to order from corky's
