things got off to a nice enough start with a quick stop to visit e! and bert (who i hope to see again asap!). after a good night's sleep we were on our way to the poconos. this was my idea, and i was really hoping it was a good one. after a solid drive in light rain we turned at the big cheesy sign that i somehow forgot to take a picture of and then saw this:
so we named it the honeymoon compound and parked by the front desk.
as i watched ej check in (with minor difficulties) i worried about the state of our honeymoon.
i continued to worry until we got into our room. given our healthy appetite for cheese, i could not have imagined a better honeymoon room. a multi-storied, egyptian-themed, mirrored-ceilinged monstrosity with a round bed, heart-shaped pool, fireplace, massage table, sauna, steam shower, and 7ft tall champagne glass jacuzzi. oh hell yes.

here you can see my special honeymoon shirt (they came with the room...ej's said 'hers') and the little pin on my hat that got us our discount at the cafe. you can also imagine the twin peaks jokes i was making while cradling our duraflame log. (cove haven travel tips: bring your own booze, snacks, and duraflame logs)
we totally rollerskated. also did some archery and played some arcade games. there was a fair amount to do around the resort, but watching the other couples was the most fun.
breakfast in bed was interesting. champagne and rice crunchins -- breakfast of champions!
though the resort may not be for everyone, we had a blast and we've been talking about going back ever since we left.
that was just the beginning of the fun... we had a lot more in store for us on our honeymoon trip...
