bee city

i kinda stopped blogging because the next thing i was going to blog about was sad and every time i thought about it, it made me sad and i didn't feel like blogging anymore.  it's been about a year so i guess i should move on, even if i'm not over it.  when we were in st. louis for last year's strange folk festival (which is awesome and we hope to be able to go again next year) we visited one of our favorite places in the world, the city museum.  we left feeling inspired, then were shocked and seriously bummed out by the news of bob cassily's death.  the city museum experience invokes a sense of extreme curiosity and drive to explore and push limits that i haven't felt anywhere else.  cementland would have been epic.

i don't want to kill this blog, so i'll just move on to post about happy times.

like the time we stopped at bee city and fed monkeys and lemurs and lots of other cute animals.  bee city was one of the most reasonably priced roadside stops we've found. we chatted with the owners, who had recently taken the place over from their parents.  they were super nice and it looks like they are doing a great job with the place.  we have been enjoying our giant jar of honey and can't wait for a chance to stop by again.

hand feeding lemurs!  we still talk about how rad their soft little fingers felt.
