time travel sunday

last sunday we had an awesome time travel road trip.

 it was a beautiful day.  we started at mountain craft days in somerset.

 various colonial era skills were on display, such as blacksmithing...

 stonecutting...

 and coopering.

 as we strolled through the woods and checked out the craft booths, we encountered some period music along the way.  this folk act was totally adorable.

 also adorable - lots of people were dressed up for the occasion.  we even spotted the maple queen!

 ej had a good stick of jerky.

 ej loves jerky, but what he really wanted was a turkey leg, so we hopped in our delorean and headed back in time to the renaissance.

 where our hearts melted at the sight of this set of pirates...

 and we found the best duck ever.
